As discussed above, the backspace key does not often delete a blank page in Word. In this case, you must know other methods to delete blank pages to make your document professional.

Delete a page Manually
It is one of the simple and effective methods to delete a page in Word. You can highlight the page and press either the backspace or delete key. This action will clear the content. After doing so, place your cursor at the very top of the now-blank page and press Delete or Backspace again to remove the blank page.
Select a Page to Delete
There’s a simple command to “Select All” in a Word document, but if you want to select just one page, you need a different method.
- First, place your cursor on the page you wish to delete.
- Then, open the “Find and Replace” window.
- On Microsoft Windows, press Ctrl + G on your keyboard.
- If you’re using a Mac, press Command + Option + G. This combination will open the “Find and Replace” window.
- In the “Go To” tab, you’ll find several options on the left side of the box under the “Go to what” section.
- Click on the “Page” that is not highlighted before.

- Next, click on the text box below the words “Enter page number” on the right side of the “Find and Replace” window.
- Type “\page” into the field and press “Enter “or the “Go To” button beneath the field.

- This will select the entire page where your cursor was placed.

- Click the “Close “button to exit the “Find and Replace” window while keeping the page highlighted.

- You can now press the Delete key on your keyboard to remove the page.
Paragraph Marker to Remove Blank Pages
Sometimes, blank pages you can’t remove are caused by manual page breaks. These breaks are often hidden because Word hides some of its controls. To make page breaks visible, click the paragraph symbol in the “Paragraph” section on the Home tab of the toolbar. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Shift + 8 to achieve the same result. Once you can see all the hidden characters, delete the paragraph symbols and any manual page breaks. This will allow you to remove the entire blank page from your document.

Check Through Navigation Pane
You can use the navigation pane to locate and delete a blank page.
- In the Word toolbar, select the “View” tab.

- In this tab, find the “Show” section to the right of the “Page Movement” section and check the box labeled “Navigation Pane.”

- This will display a thumbnail of each page on the left side of the screen.
- Click on the “blank page” you want to delete, which will bring you to that page.
